BookOpps.com

BookOpps.com operates as a marketplace for buying and selling eBooks. Buyers can browse or search and buy eBooks for download. Authors or publishers or others can register and list their own eBooks to make it available for purchase and download. Listings are made free of cost and the site does not charges any commission on eBooks sold.

Registration

To make listings on the site and use its other features you need to register. It only takes a minute or so to complete the registration. As soon as you fill-up the registration form and click Register, an e-mail is sent asking you to verify your e-mail address. The e-mail contains a link which you need to click or copy and paste in your browser address bar. Once done, you are verified and your registration is enabled.

Member Login

Your e-mail address is your login ID which, along with your password you selected while registering, will enable you to get access to the Member's Area of the site. From here you can create a new listing, upload pictures to your listings and edit existing ones. You can change your password if you so wish and update your preferences for newsletter and e-mail address. You may also subscribe to receive links to new eBooks posted for sale on the site in your selected categories.

Listing Submission

When you wish to create a new listing, login to the Member's Area via the Member Login link at the top. Inside, click on the link New Listing in the left side menu. This will bring you to the category selection page. Please select a category most appropriate to your listing. As soon as you do, you will be taken to the listing form. You can always go back and select another category if you made an incorrect choice. Category headings convey broad meaning as to the subject matter of the eBook. Suggest a new category or sub-category if your listing so requires.

Listing Details

Describe your eBook in detail. The more effective your sales copy, the more likely someone will buy it. The Payment Link can go directly to your PayPal E-mail or Credit Card Gateway or Shopping Cart. The Author-Publisher Website can link to your website or specifically to the page containing information about the eBook. URLs should always begin with http://. Fill-up the price starting with the $ or other currency sign. Once you have submitted the form, you may also upload up to five pictures, one video and one document to your listing. The submitted listing remains hidden from the public until the Site Administrator approves it. Approvals take about 24 hours. Do not use all caps in the listing title.

HTML Tags

You can use some html tags in the description box, e.g. BookOpps.com eBook Marketplace, to create an additional link to your site or link to an external web page.

Premium Listings

Premium Listings are displayed on the Front Page and respective Category Pages above all other listings. A Premium Listing costs $35 for One Month (30 Days), $60 for Two Months (60 Days), and $75 for Three Months (90 Days). In addition, you may make listings with a bold title. Bold listing package is sold for lots of 10 listings and costs $10. Payment can be made from within the Member Area by selecting the appropriate payment package. Payment is accepted through PayPal or 2CheckOut.

Listing Searches

While one can browse through the listings by category, people often search with keywords. The keyword based searches are confined to words appearing in the Title and Description boxes. So keep in mind while creating your listing to include keywords for which you would like your listing to be found by others.

Listing Duration

Listings are made for 1000 days (about 3 years) at a time. One week before expiry, you will be sent an e-mail about this. You can re-list if your eBook is still available. You can edit and update your listing anytime and as many times as necessary. You can certainly delete it if it is no longer required.

Payment Refund

If your premium listing is refused for some reason, the credit for that listing will be added back to your account and can be reused. Should you so wish, a refund can be authorized for a refused listing. If for some reason your listing is removed by us from the site pre-maturely, pro-rated refund of listing cost will be made. There is, however, no refund if you decide to pre-maturely delete your listing on your own.

Listing Notification

You can subscribe to receive notifications of new listings in your selected categories. Whenever a new listing is published on our site in your selected category, an e-mail containing a link to that listing will be sent to you. To use this feature you must become a registered user.

Reviewing eBooks

Users can write comments or reviews on listed eBooks should they so wish. This requires registration and you must login before being able to add a review or comment. The listing owner is notified of any such review or comment posted and may respond to such posts, or delete objectionable posts if he or she so chooses.

Site Navigation

We have tried to keep the navigation of the site as simple and intuitive as possible. The links at the top and the bottom will appear on all pages enabling you to go to any of these pages from anywhere on the site. The detailed listing page has the links to contact the person making the listing, tell-a-friend about a listing, bookmark it, print it, and more. Listing stats are shown on the detailed listing page. In addition, your Member Area will have information on the number of people who contacted you via the contact form, the total number of listings and views. Do give your suggestions on improvement - it will be appreciated.

The service is provided "As Is" without any warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for any loss or damage you may suffer or incur as a result of your listing an eBook for sale with us. If you do not accept this, do not list your items here. Buyers - exercise due diligence. You are solely responsible for your decisions.

Privacy Policy

Information Collected

We require your name and e-mail address to be submitted while registering and may be published with your listing on our site so that interested Buyers can contact you. We may communicate with you occasionally in connection with the services provided by us.

Sharing Information

We do not share information with third parties. Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.

Business Transition

In the event BookOpps.com goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changes here so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
